What's included

Personal care can be tailored around the individual needs of your loved one and may include support with washing, bathing, dressing, toileting, continence needs, catheter care, grooming and getting ready for the wedding. Support can be provided before the ceremony, throughout the celebrations and at the end of the evening, including helping your loved one change, prepare for bed and settle comfortably if required. Most importantly, personal care is provided privately, sensitively and without unnecessary fuss, allowing your loved one to concentrate on enjoying the occasion.

• Bathing and dressing assistance

  Getting ready for a wedding should feel special. Our chaperones can provide assistance with bathing or washing, dressing and changing throughout the day where required. We can help with clothing, shoes, fastenings and other aspects of getting ready, always respecting the guest’s privacy, preferences and independence. At the end of the celebrations, we can also assist with changing into nightwear and settling comfortably for the evening where this forms part of the agreed support.

• Incontinence and catheter care

  ontinence needs should never leave someone feeling embarrassed or worried about attending a wedding. We can provide discreet assistance with toileting and agreed continence care throughout the day, including support for guests who use continence products or have an established catheter. We can also plan ahead by familiarising ourselves with accessible toilet facilities and considering the practicalities of the venue, helping make personal care as comfortable, private and dignified as possible.

• Nail painting and hair styling

  Sometimes it's the little touches that make someone feel truly part of the occasion. Our support isn't only about practical care. We can help your loved one get wedding-ready too — whether that's painting their nails, helping style their hair, applying their favourite accessories or adding those finishing touches to their outfit. Getting ready can be a lovely part of the wedding experience, and we want the person we're supporting to feel just as special and involved as every other guest.

• Medication reminders

  A busy wedding day can make it easy for normal routines to be disrupted. Where agreed as part of the guest's support plan, our chaperones can provide medication reminders and prompts, helping your loved one follow their usual medication routine throughout the day. Any medication support will be discussed beforehand so that we clearly understand what assistance is required and remain within the appropriate boundaries of our role. Our goal is simple: to provide the practical personal support your loved one needs, while protecting their dignity, independence and confidence throughout the wedding day.
